CELEBRATING
80 REMARKABLE
YEARS

Elder Essiet D. A. Imeh

“The memory of the righteous is blessed.” — Proverbs 10:7

A LIVING MIRACLE

When Weeks Became Decades

Years ago, Daddy survived a serious accident that left him with only half of one functioning kidney. At the time, doctors gave him only a few weeks to live.

But weeks became months. Months became years. And those years have now become nearly four decades—and counting. His continued life is a remarkable testimony of resilience, faith, and the sustaining grace of God. Through limitations, uncertainty, and the passing of time, he has continued to live, think, create, mentor, serve, love, and inspire.

His story reminds us that medical predictions are not the final word.

God is..!

HE BECAME BOTH FATHER AND MOTHER

In the face of life's challenging circumstances, he accepted the enormous responsibility of raising four daughters. He became their father, mother, teacher, protector, disciplinarian, encourager, mentor, and spiritual guide. He taught them to read, think, work, survive difficult circumstances, solve problems, pursue excellence, and develop a genuine personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

He taught them to read.

He taught them to think.

He taught them to work.

He taught them to pray.

He taught them to overcome.

He taught them to dream beyond their circumstances.

SUCCESS WAS NEVER HIS FINAL GOAL

While Daddy deeply prized academic rigor, diligent work, professional mastery, and creative ingenuity, his ultimate vision for his children was far more profound.
He desired that each of them cultivate a deep, personal closeness with God through consistent Bible study, fervent prayer, unwavering faith, and a committed relationship with Jesus Christ. He believed that true fulfillment comes only through a life of dependence on the Creator.

He did not simply want successful children. He wanted children who knew God.

"And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children." — Isaiah 54:13

WHERE CURIOSITY CAME ALIVE

His favorite pastime is his laboratory. A space where the mind of an engineer and scientist meets the practical world.

Why does this work?

Why is it done this way?

Could it be done differently?

Could it be done better?

Could this problem be solved?

Could it be done more affordably?

THE INNOVATOR

He saw problems as invitations to create. His laboratory was a haven of curiosity and practical solutions.

Soy-Based Nutrition

A life-saving formula developed to combat childhood malnutrition in Northern Nigeria, providing essential nutrients for growing children.

Activated Charcoal

Produced through his own laboratory work, this innovation provided a practical solution for detoxification and health purification.

Heating Elements

Early experiments in electric irons and hair dryers, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to practical engineering and household utility.

Adult Nutrition

Exploring nutritious soy-based formulations for adults, ensuring that health and longevity were accessible to all through science.

Experimentation

A lifetime of curiosity and practical solutions, driven by the desire to solve real-world problems and improve everyday life.

Laboratory Legacy

A sanctuary of curiosity where questions were examined and practical solutions were discovered for the benefit of ordinary people.

NEVER BE AFRAID TO ASK WHY?

[1]
Observe

He began with a keen eye for detail, noting every nuance of a process to understand its foundation.

[2]
Question

He challenged the status quo, asking 'Why does this work?' to dismantle assumptions and seek truth.

[3]
Improve

His mind was a laboratory of ideas, constantly seeking better solutions to make life better for others.

SOME PEOPLE CAME TO VISIT. MANY STAYED TO LEARN.

WHAT’S YOUR PLAN FOR TODAY?

This was one of his favorite questions.
"What is one meaningful thing you intend to accomplish today?"

He lives to make everyday count and
inspires others to da the same.

Daddy would say all these things  we are teaching  you, if you embrace  them,in  10, 15years  you will be at the top. Indeed looking back, he was right! He was prophetic!  He taught us love for indepth Bible study. He inspired us to always give our very best. He is an encourager. He didn't have much but was generous with the little he had..He believed in me even when I didn't know myself. God used him and his four precious daughters to unlock the inherent potentials in me! A HEARTFELT TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED DADDY, ELDER E. D. A. IMEH, AT 80 Daddy, how do I thank a man whom God Himself used to change the direction of my life? When I look back at my journey, I see your footprints clearly. You were a God-sent bridge in my life and one of the instruments God used to lead me to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Through your words and, most importantly, your life, you taught me that a family that prays together stays together. Daddy, your discipline, straightforwardness, integrity, fear of God, and love for people have deeply influenced me. Many of the values that guide my life today were shaped by your counsel and example. You did not only teach us how to live—you showed us how to live. Today, I stand before you with a heart overflowing with gratitude. Thank you, Daddy, for your prayers, your guidance, your corrections, your love, and for allowing God to use your life to touch mine. At 80, we celebrate not just your years, but your legacy of faith, family, discipline, service, and lives positively transformed. My prayer is that the God you have faithfully served will renew your strength, preserve your health, fill your heart with peace and joy, and grant you many more blessed years with us. And when your earthly journey is finally complete, may you hear those beautiful words: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Daddy, I love you, I honour you, and I thank God for the gift of your life. Your impact on my life will remain with me forever. Happy 80th Birthday, my beloved Daddy, Elder E. D. A. Imeh. May your light continue to shine, and may your legacy live on for generations. To God be all the glory. Amen.
